I think that interviews are a valuable way of receiveing information or data from a primary source.

  3. I think a good interview needs to be thought out you eed an answer for any question possible. You need to be prepared.

  4. An interview is a great way to get to know someone and the great innner things about them. Last Period in English class we were paired up with partners and i was thankfully paired up with my good friend Andy Veiga. I have been friends with Andrew for several years and i thought i knew everything about, but i was wrong...i learned many new things about him and it was a fairly fun process.

Interviews consist of a series of questions presented to an interviewee to get information.

There are many things that should go into an interview. There should be many different types of questions such as questions about life and also about significant topics. The most important thing about asking a question is that the questions MUST be open-ended. If the questions just require one word answers, you're not going to get anywhere.

I agree with Andrew Veiga when he stated that you need open ended questions in an interview to get good information.

  11. An interview is being asked questions about themselves, or a specific event. An interview asks questions about something that happened from the primary source and gets facts straight. Interview is a vague word compared to the different ways to go about an interview and the different types of interviews. Job interview, personality interview, event interview etc.

  12. interviews are better when the person being interviewed is prepared, its private, and there aren't like 20 people with microphones and video cameras asking questions at the same time like at a press conference

  13. Ask the interviee questions about the subject you want to know about

  14. I believe that an interview involves a lot of preparing to be successful in the interview. it involves being comfortable with the person or people that you are presenting too otherwise you will be very nervous and stutter and miss things. you should have the whole interview planned out wtih everything you want to say so you dont miss anything or forget to ask any questions that you wanted to ask.

  15. interviews are the top way how we get our information on people. It gets the person to tell there side of the story and there ideas on it. Without it there would just be a boring newepaper stating the facts not ideas.

  16. An interview involves getting to know a person's work ethic and asking questions.

  17. I agree with cmkimball95. An interview can be a good source to find out more about someone and to see if the job they are seeking fits them well. I don't think I have been interviewed in my life, i can't remember. I don't think a lot is put into an interview unless the interview is about a job opening.

  18. Asking a person questions about an event, problem, something they did, etc is the integral part of an interview. You have to have a reporter that does the interviewing and the the interviewee. They should ask many different types of questions to get good answers in the interview. I also agree with andrew viega, one word answers are almost worthless.

  19. Interviews can either be very helpful, or not at all. I say this because if the interview is truthful & thorough & about something interesting, it can make a great story. The way that it could be bad is if the person you are interviewing makes someone else look bad or if they are lying. These are my thoughts on interviewing.

  21. Interviews should have many things that go into them. The questions you should ask should not be really personal but still should explain things about the person. I also agree with andrew on how the questions should be open-ended.

  22. I think interviews are very helpful, usually, unless your interviewee is uninterested and gives you brief answers. It is a different and fun way to get the information you are looking for, and a hands on or more interactive experience. Plus on some occasions it can take time out of class if you have to go interview someone which can be nice too.

  23. things that go into an interview are that an interveiwer asks questions of another person. Either about themselves, things or events that have happened to them or things that are happening in the world that they have knowlage on. The interviewer should have prepared questions to ask that would allow the interviewe to talk or illaberate on the question. and the person being interveiwed should be prepared to ask the questions being asked of them fairly quickly.

  24. An interview can be a way for the public, or a select few, to really begin to understand someone else and what they think. The information that can be gained sometimes only be found from an interview. It is also a way for the interviewee to get out information about themself.

In response to Tyge saying that interviews probably won't get a lot put into it, usually when the interviewee is a really famous celebrity there could be entire television shows about the interview!

  26. I think Shounak stated a good point by saying interviews are private. Usually interviews only involve two people, the interviewer and the interviewee.

  27. If interview questions are not open ended then it leaves room for interpretation which can be positive or negative. Therefor, I agree open ended questions that leave room for explanation are better than simple "yes" or "no" questions. Plus they make the interview more interesting for the reader. (open ended questions)

I agree with Andrew Veiga when he said you need to have an open ended question to get more and good information. There is alot of work that goes into getting ready for an interview! You must be ready!!

  29. Interviews contain questions about thoughts and knowledge. Correct posture makes you look more presentable, and correct enlgish helps too. Slang is not good for interviews such as a job, but for celebrity interviews it is okay because they are expected to do as they please. Every interview should be taken seriously because it could effect your future.

  30. i think interviews should be someone asking questions about yourself ex. whats your future goals? but before that start an interesting conversation

  31. In an interview there are several things that should be in it, for instance there should be a main point that is the focus, something like a current event. Also you may want to draw an opinion out of t he interviewee.

  32. i think that interviews need good questions and a good vibe. it seems like some interviews on T.V, some of them have bad conection and the interviewee seems to get annoyed fast.

  33. even if a question is open ended, you can still get a simple answer. You could ask:"What do you think about Obama's new economic policy", you could get a long speech, or the person being interviewed can just say: "I like it"

  34. I agree with Aislinn,an interview needs a good vibe, and needs to be interesting. If it is not, people will get bored, and not want to pay attention to it.

  35. Interviews are a unique way to get a closer view at someone’s life. They give you an opportunity to ask questions and acquire knowledge about someone that you would of never known beforehand. Interviews have their pros and cons. I agree with Marissa in saying, that the only way to have a successful interview is if the interviewee is willing to share information. If the person your interviewing is brief and shares very little about themselves then nothing is learned and the interview is a waste of time.

  36. Not only do the words that a person says make up an interview, but the body language and even his surroundings can also contribute to an interview just like in the interview we just read

  37. The anlalogies used in this interview are outstanding. To be able to tell so much information about his feelings about having that cold and how it caused lack of confidence from not talking to him takes talent. How the interviewer talks about Sinatras song "In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning" he is able to go into depth about the purpose of the song and the atmosphere when the song came on. How it inspired lovers that lazily hung about to cling to each other dearly and sway to the music. Then when the interviewer talks about how men really wanted to just catch a glimpse of him and how for just a few moments they'd stare, then fight there way back out of the bar. That shows how much respect and idolization he was granted by die hard fans and how much he had to live for. After the dispute between Sinatra and Ellison, the interviewer captures the hositlity in Sinatras attitude towards everyone. And how he snaps about Ellisons attire, then barks at the club manager that he doesn't approve of anyone wearing anything besides coats and ties. It was astounding that the manager simply nodded. That makes it seem like Sinatra can get away with a lot more than any other person.

  38. my new perspective on interviews is that no matter how much someone doesnt want to participate in the interview you can still write something up. it may be hard but if yuo are assigned a task and you are ready but the person you are assigned the task too doesnt want to participate you still need to ge the job done or you dont get paid.

  39. and you need to do the work no matter what

  40. So yah, body language and atmosphere are very important when interviewing stubborn personalities. Sometimes saying nothing can tell more than someone who goes into detail about everything. It shows a persons character and personality by the WAY someone answers a question. Not just by the answer.
