Why are these stories newsworthy?

  1. These articles are newsworthy because they deal with current events. I thought the most interesting was John's because I didn't think that there would be an article that listed jobs that are good for the unemployed.

  2. the most newsworthy article is the one about how people are spending money on overpriced things even though they don't have the money. These articles were all good but this was the most newsworthy.

  3. I think that Rose's article was super duper. It has truth behind it because people always complain about the prices of things they want, but they buy it anyways. If you want something to be changed, you don't support it.

  4. I think that the most newsworthy is Rose's article because many people spend way too much on unnecessary or overpriced items and later fall into debt and stuff

  5. These articles are newsworthy because they are about things that are happening at this point of time. i think along with ryan the most interesting was the one that john presented to us. it was very different from other articles and could be very useful to people.

  6. I thought it was interesting how there was an article about high paying jobs for the unemployed, followed by one about six overpriced items. It is like they earn money and then spend it immediately on something overpriced.

  7. I agree with Ryan. Right now with our country in recession and unemployment rising people need to find jobs. This list of jobs will give people chance at finding work and once more people get back to work this will help to improve the economy.

  8. I thought the most newsworthy article was "6 outrageously overpriced items." This is because it deals with two different problems in america; Health and the economy.

  9. I liked rose's article the best because it is true that people are complaining about a recession but yet they spend there money on pointless companies and support them when they shouldnt be supported.

  10. Rose, not because it was yours, right?

  11. I think the only newsworty articles were the mudslide that shelby did and the article that rose did. I think they are newsworthy because the mudslide is a natural disaster that caused all of guatemala to be exacuated. rose's article deals with the health of america as well as our econonmy which is interesting because I didnt know that those two topics tied in with each other.

  12. I think that the most newsworthy story was the one about the hickers bcause they think that they were conspiring against them and they were really just walking without knowing they were on their territory, and its interesting to know that you can get such a harsh sentance without actually doing anything. This reminds me of the story that was on oprah about lisa lings sister and how she crossed the line unintentionally into curia and she was sentanced to 5 years hard labor and former president clinton flew there and had to get them out. so i think that this is an interesting story and definatly newsworthy.

  13. The most newsworthy article is the one that Rose presented. Health is getting to be bad in the United States and also the economy. I also agree with Andrew

  14. I think Rose's article was the most newsworthy because it deals with everyday problems that Americans have dealing with money.

  15. These articles are newsworthy because they are current events. People are always interested in what is going on around them. I thought the most interesting article was the one about the Cuban mudslides because it involved a lot of people.

  16. I agree with shelby because it is important to keep up with the times and these are all things that are happening recently.

  17. the other very newsworthy article was the one about the overpriced things because although they are overpriced people are still not thinking and buy them anyways. our economy is very bad right now and buying things and not saving your money is making it worse . you could be paying bills, or buying groceries with that money instead of being out buying foolish things

  18. I agree wih zack because the mudslide that happened is devistating and can alter peoples life.

  19. I think that Rose's article was the most newsworthy. Her article was about how people are always complaining about our economy, but we still spend money on unnecessary, overpriced items. So this article brings into the spotlight, how we waste money on things and that we can not buy these things to save money.

  20. I agree with andrew. It is strange that they say we need to buy only what we need and then they go out and spend their money without a care. Its hypocritial.

The most news worthy article was Ryan Connor's because it talked about our fellow United States citizens being held hostage in another foreign country. This is definitly newsworthy because this is very dangerous and could ultimately start a war if the hostages were ever killed.

  22. the most newsworthy was the one about the mudslide because people actually got hurt as apposed to people having economic trouble in the other two articles

  23. All of these articles are newsworthy because they all deal with important topics and topics that are current. All of the articles relate to the world! The most interesting article is the one about hikers who got held hostage by people from Iran. This is important because the whole world can get involved with this situation.

  24. The articles were very newsworthy. Rose's article seemed for newsworthy for me because the health of citizens and the economic state of our country are two major issue and she combined them in one article. It made sense and Rose did a tremendous job.

  25. these articles are newsorthy because they draw are attention and make us wonder about different things and bring up things for us to talk about

  26. i agree with rose becuase its was intersting to listen to. Even though the others were good. I fell like that one was the most newsworthy. Health and economy are bascly the two most important things that are on the minds of alot of people today.

  27. Yeah Kimball,I completely agree.

  28. I agree with Andrew and Meredith. I think that many people in the U.S don't realize that they are worsening the economy. They don't look at themselves when there's problem, they point fingers and blame others.

  29. Zach, I think that is because when the middle class sees the rich people they think it is luxurious, so instead of trying to save up their money for the necessities, they spend it on some random, overpriced, unnecessary item to try and impress their colleagues.

  30. The other article that was newsworthy was the mudslide. I agree with Xinrui because it does involve a lot of people and that makes it newsworthy.

  31. Another article that I thought was interesting was the "six overpriced items". Even when people can't afford an overpriced service they are still purchasing it. This is part of the reason why our country is having economic problems because people are continuously putting themselves in debt. If these items are that overpriced people should stop buying them.

  32. Madie: i agree with you. health and economy are truly the most important things that people think about in this day and age. its a top priority in some peoples life and some people sturggle with health and economic troubles

    ReplyDelete
  33. i agree with xinrui. people only care about stuff going around them. how many people here know about the floods that hit pakistan about a month ago. the nation is absolutely screwed even worse than guatemala or even haiti after the earthquakes. people only think of pakistan right now when they think of terrorists and the situtation was barely on the news in the u.s

  34. wait, now that i read your respose jessica, i change my mind. I now think that the most important one was the one about hikers who got held hostage from iran. Just like you wrote it can involve the whole world.

  35. I think that Rose's article is the most newsworthy, because it really drew my attention and brought up a lot of keypoints to think about.

  36. @ryan connor
that makes sense. I guess when I look at people like Bill Gates I think that they live a luxurious life and I think well if they live like that then so can I.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, apparently you knew about it Shounak, but the reason people care more about places like Haiti and Cuba is because they are right next door to the U.S. They are considered to be vacatoon spots for some U.S. citizens, more so than Pakistan is.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I agree with Ryan. Many people purchase items because they are influenced by others. This happens a lot in society, including school.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think the most newsworthy article is the one about the hikers. This is because it is world news and it's important that the truth is set straight and these people are free.

  40. i one hundered percent think that Rose article was newworthy because its explaining whats happing in the U.S. and peoples health is affecting there lives and could effect many more. To me thats a very scary feeling to have not knowing whats going to happen to your health, and has me question what are we going to do to pervent are health to become in danger. But good job Rose on finding a newworthy article :)
