The Cleveland Caveliers 26 game losing streak which is tied for the longest losing streak ever in the 3 major sports. 3 Major Sports are : 1. Baseball 2. Football 3. Basketball
The article that i choose was Iphone not good for Verizon...this article is about the faulty 3G network that verizon and Apple have come together with for the iphones transition to Apple. The article is basically a caveat to consumers that this phone may not be such an ideal purchase. The article also gives a list a phones which may be a better selection
David Beckham was driving on the highway in England, when he pulled over. The reason he pulled over was because a man was stuck on the side of the road. This was a busy area, and it was a dangerous place to break down. David Beckham helped the man push his car off to the side enough to be out of danger. This was a good deed by a celebrity that he didn't need to do. The man was there for 10 minutes before Beckham stopped, and he may have been there longer if he hadn't. It's the little things in life that make the world go round.
My article is Death row inmate gettig a second chance. His name is Damien Echols and he was convicted of three murders of eight year old boys back in 1993. Echols was sentenced to recieve the death penality but he fought his case in court and won his right to live. This is newsworthy because the death penality is an ongrowing controversy that should not be used under any circumstances. This is just one living example of the death penality controvery. Echols already serves 23 hours per day in a jail cell, and doing this for life is surly a strict enough punishment. Also people who have been killed and then later found innocent of the crime. Damien echols DNA evidence has not completly confirmed yet, so this could have possibly happened again.
@Devin, I like this story its good to see something nice and positive being done by someone who is constantly in the public eye. Much better than hearing about Paris Hilton or some other low life.
The top ten states with the deadliest eating habits are: 10. New Mexico 9. Arizona 8. Ohio 7. South Dakota 6. Nevada 5. Oklahoma 4. Kansas 3. Missouri 2. Alabama 1. Mississippi
In the past few weeks protest and revolts have been occurring in Cairo, Egypt. People have been gathering in attempts to get the current President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, to step down so that there can be change in the country. The situation has affected many people and the US having good ties with Egypt is caught in a tough situation. The US wants to not pick a side, as they want to remain friendly with Egypt, but the current government wants them to end the protest while the new government wants them to help force Mubarak out of power. It is a very tough situation that continues to grow with the largest protest expected today.
Devin your article was interesting because most celebrities, especially one of Beckahams caliber are notorious for being jerks. The fact that a celebrity would do this is very interesting and kind of him to do this.
@chris: the iphone isnt popular yet because people don't know what its like yet. A lot of people are scared that Verizon will end up like AT&T and not have good reception anymore. In a couple months if people who bought the iphone say that it's really good, than people will buy it more
My article is about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz filing divorce from Pete Wentz. Simpson filed for divorce on Wednesday, February 9th, in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. She is seeking physical custody of their 2 year old son, Bronx. Sources have said that they are on amicable terms. One source revealed that the breakup was a result of the two growing apart. However, TMZ reports that Simpson left due to Wentz's antics. The two have been married for 2 years. I found this newsworthy because people like to hear about celebrity breakups.
My article, from a previously cancelled TMZ, is about majoy brands that are closing stores. Because of the bad economy and the loss of sales in many stores due to people conserving their money, many stores are closing districts down in early 2011 in an attempt to save the company and funds. Some of the companies include: Borders (shut down 200 stores), Barnes and Noble (shut down its B.Dalton subdivision), TJ Maxx (shut down its A.J. Wright line) Bebe stores (shut down PH8 unit, 48 stores), Liz Clairborne (shut down all stores and is selling through J.C. Penny). Also, technology stores that sell things such as music and movies are closing shop as well. Blockbuster and For Your Entertainment (F.Y.E.) have been shutting down most of their stores and Movie Galley has completely shut down.
This is a big surprise, as I grew up near a Blockbuster and took it for granted, until it shut down. I had rented movies there as a kid and I was very disappointed to see it go, even though I had not been there in years. This article is very newsworthy because it shows a big shift in what stores people can buy from and removes a lot of jobs for people, which is a problem with unemployment already so high. However, I found that Abercrombie and Fitch have atually benefitted from shutting down 10% of their stores (about sixty), because they have to manage less locations and th ecustomers simply moved to another store. I thought this was very interesting because it was the reverse effect of what I expected.
My topic this week is Ted Williams, not the famous baseball player, but a different Ted Williams, coincidentally named after the Red Sox legend, and famous in his own unique way. On January 3rd, 2011 a local newspaper reporter from Columbus, Ohio named Doral Chenoweth, interviewed a homeless man who had a “golden voice” according to the poster he was holding that also begged for donations. This man was Ted Williams, a former radio announcer whose drug and alcohol problems ruined his career and eventually led to his homelessness. Chenoweth videotaped the interview, and put it on YouTube. This video would quickly change William’s life forever. It became extremely popular on the internet and eventually, Williams was invited by multiple TV networks to come on shows such as The Early Show on CBS, and Today on NBC. After this Williams was given multiple job offers which would immediately bring him out of homelessness. He was officially hired to do voiceovers on MSNBC and be the voice in commercials for Kraft Foods. However, Williams admitted that he still had alcohol problems on Dr. Phil, and decided to go into rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. No matter what happens though, Ted William’s life will always be better than it was before.
To add onto my topic it is an embarassing mark to have been named as the team with the longest losing streak in any sport. The Cavaliers as many people know are without their superstar player Lebron James who left for Miami to join forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
John Wahl, one of the stories on yahoo that was posted today said the Mubarak had just resigned and handed his power to the military. This should stop most of the rioting and protesting
The Christina Agulara tmz topic sounds interesting. When I first saw it, my first thought was that she would sound amazing. But when I researched it, it turns out she did a horrible job! Not what I thought was going to happen.
My article was about "Homepage High school". This is a school that doesn't have any textbook or notebooks. All they use are computers to educate students. The principal Nancy Amling wants to change the way education looks in a little place. This goes to show that the education system is really being taking over by technology.
@John. I agree that the death penalty is never a neccesary punishment. I personally think that if you isolate a convict for the rest of their live then that is much worse then killing them. I believe the death penalty is almost like taking the easy way out.
I was going to speak about the NFL collective bargaining agreement. The agreement is about the revenues that the league makes and how much goes to the players. Right now the NFL Players Association and the Team owners have come to a 50-50 proposal. The proposal states that 50 percent of revenues that the owners make go to the players and 50 will go back to the owners. So far there has been no agreement and according to espn sources their far away from were they want to be in these discussions. If there is no new collective bargaining agreement by march 3rd then the players are ready to lockout and strike the owners.
The article that I chose was about a new drilling technique that is being developed and invested in as we speak. This new technique could lead to the western United States producing more oil than the Gulf of Mexico does currently. This could help combat the energy crisis that we have in the United States. It could also start to wean us off the need that we have of oil from the Middle East.
Veiga, it costs a lot of money to keep a criminal behind bars. There is a lot of money going towards federal and state prisons, and the death penalty is a good way to lessen the load.
Shounak that is a great topic and I think its a great story. Shounaks man, Ted Williams, got a job with the Cleveland Cavaliers due to his renonwned voice and the Cleveland Cavs are the main part of my topic. His talent is raw and it is a fantastic story.
Shounak, I saw the video the week it came out and didnt think much of it. The next week, the video was on the news and they said he recieved jobs in sportscasting and things of that nature. It's very heartwarming to know that a man who has been on the streets for years is getting a second chance.
Devin, I think that your article was interestng because most celebrities start going down a path where they become arrogant and think that it is below them to help people. I think that David Beckham's actions will have a positive effect on up and coming celebrities and everyday people.
At john's article, I think this story serves a very good point. People have been given the death penalty and then they have been proven innocent. Serving life in prison and living in a cell for 23 hours each day is enough punishment unless the person is proven guilty. Once the DNA testing comes back then they will know if he did or did not kill them, but if he did kill them then I think he would deserve the death penalty. It is contreversal, but for someone that has taken three lives they deserve that harsh of a punishment.
MY article I gound on yahooo is basically about rich people wanting one of a knid things for their one of a kind houses and the worlds most expensive bed for the special one-of-a-kind house can cost you 6.4million dollars. Which is way to much to purchase a bed and it doesn't evne look nice
Alec your article is also a great conversation, because many people follow the NFL. Your article also brings up two points whichh makes it newsworthy. but the question i have is, is this right??
My article is about married republican congressman, Chris Lee, sending a semi naked photo to a craigslist woman. The congressmen met the woman on a 'Women Seeking Men' forum. At the time the congressman was serving the 26th District of New York, and he replied with a topless picture and the caption: 'Hope I'm not a toad. :) i'm a very fit fun classy guy. Live in Cap Hill area. 6ft 190lbs blond/blue. 39.. Lobbyist. I promise not to disappoint." The congressman is actually 49 and lives with his wife and children. After Lee was caught he eventaully quit congress.
Shounak, I like how your topic was unique which make it interesting and newsworthy. The fact that his name is Ted Williams and that he turned his life around from a homeless person to a youtube sensation. I liked this because it stood out as a topic.
I think that John's article is very interesting because the death penalty has been greatly debated throughout the years. I believe that Damien Echols does deserve to live. Death penalties are not right in my opinion. If a person committs murder, then they should be punished. However, the death penalty should not be the punishment used. The death penalty is a type of murder because you are killing a human. It doesn't make sense if the state is killing people for killing others. Everyone should deserve to live, no matter what.
My article is about the ressurection of the Woolly Mammoth, which may be possible in only five years. This is sparking a LOT of controversy between people who think that this is wrong and believe that animals go extinct for a reason, but some think it is a great way for us to learn about the history of earth and to study the animal.
Donald Trump says he is seriously thinking about running for president but won't make a final decision until summer, this is newsworthy because obviously people of the U.S would want to know who their president is at the current time, or will be in the near future. This has proximity because we live in the United states, and he would be running for the president of the U.S. Trump appeared on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Wednesday night, and he said that the United States is faring poorly and has lost the respect of the world. He quotes that "I am seriously thinking about it. I won't make a decision till June," he said. "But I will make a decision and it may surprise people frankly, but I will make a decision sometime prior to June." "I love this country. I hate what's happened to this country," he added. "We're a laughingstock throughout the world. We're not respected." Having a multi-billionaire as our president would be quite a change, so i think this sparks human interest. Trump said that if elected, he would reassess American foreign policy, especially its relationship with China, of whom he considers to be "the enemy." He wants to put a 25% tax on all chinese products, which is huge because half of the things you pick up in the store today say "Made in china" on them. Trump believes china to be the enemy, because he thinks they are trying to take over this country economically, which is why he would tax the products.
@John I don't think that the protests and riots will completely stop. This is because there will still be a fight for power in Egypt. There is no set leader that will take control after all of the comotion bubbles down. Because of this, there could be more fighting in order for one group to get an upper-hand and become the governing body.
Caley Rem: My article is about Christina Aguilera and her mishop while singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl ceremony. She sang "what so proudly we watched," when the correct lyrics were, "o'er the ramparts we watched." Christina explains that she is very well aware about her misconduct, and the said that she must have just gotten caught up in the moment. She apologizes, and hopes the true spirit of the anthem still came through.
Michaela i think this is a good article and all...but i mean why do you think this is newsworthy? i mean cant a congressman just send a pic of his nice abs to a women...i mean come on you need to relax. Every body makes mistakes
Couldnt agree more with Andrew although sometimes they need to pay for their actions whether the punishment be lethal or not. I jsut watched a movie called "The Chamber" starring Gene Hackman and I realized how unfair the Death Penalty can be. Once Sam Cayhall (Gene Hackman) is sentenced to death for rascist kills, the athorities find out that his associate and best friend growing up was actually responsible for the killing. His name was Rolly Wedge and he was a Confederate Supporter. It eas too late for sam though, the governor already confirmed his death certificate and Sam was put to death through gas chamber. This is a fictional story but can portray the death penalty's flaws and risks if people are proven innocent in a crime.
My article is on the effect that Glee is having on United States teenagers. Numbers for applications to art and music schools have tripled and there has been an overwhelming amount of kid’s sighing up for drama and chorus classes. The Orange County High School of the Arts has received a record 3,356 applications and the schools founder and executive director says this is all due to Glee. Matthew Morrison who plays Mr. shu on glee attended this school and Ralph Opacic, who was Morrison's high school choir teacher said "'Glee' has made singing and dancing cool. He continues to shine the spotlight on our school, and his success makes it that much more reachable to the kids: 'If Matt can do it, then I can, too.'" Glee has given confidence to kids who were "outcasts" and made it cool to be a geek. Or in this case a Gleek.
John's article is very interesting. Echols won his court case and now has to stay in jail for the rest of his life. This definitely raises the controversy of the death penalty. If Echols killed those boys, some people would say he should get the death penalty, but what if he really did not? I think it is better if they spend more time doing research and then decide if his sentence of jail for life should be changed for better or worse.
To answer Jonathons question, the study is based on grocery stores per 1,000 residents, Amount Spent on Fast Food per capita, gallons of soft drinks purchased per capita, and pounds of sweets purchased per capita.
@Jerzy...science never fails to dissapoint. there is always something new being discovered and being discussed. if you think about it it is pretty awesome that we could soo see a real life whooly mamoth. But personally id reather see a sabertooth tiger.
@Chris I think that the same thing that happened to the service of AT&T will happen to Verizon now. The IPhone hogs so much service that AT&T constantly has issues now. Verizon used to have some of the best service in the nation, but the IPhone could very well change that.
Chris makes a valid point. If this was just a regular everyday citizen nobody would care but since she is a congresswoman people shine the light on her too much. She is human like all of the people in the world, we all do dumb things sooner or later.
I think Devin's article is the most interesting because you don't usually hear about that. A lot of celebritys would just drive by and not pay attention but David Beckham was nice enough to help him.
Alec, your topic was newsworthy because football is the most popular sport in america. After record breaking viewing of the super bowl, a shocking turn for the worse with this bargaing agreement shows a behind the scenes of a very sucessful business which is very interesting.
The story of the man with the golden voice is a great story. When I heard this guys voice it was amazing. Thanks to the reporter that found him his life will never be the same. Its too bad that he still has some problems, but now people are helping him and he will get better. This shows just how much drugs and alcohal can bring down someone, no matter how talented they are.
I think it is interesting how those ten states have the most dangerous eating habits. It is also interesting, how Devin notes, that they are in the south. I wonder if New Mexico is rated the deadliest because a large portion of it is desert.
at jerzy's article, i think that if they can bring it back and have a place to keep them and they will be well taken care of, then i think that they should bring it back. Plus it would be really cool.
@Xinrui, Your article is interesting, I think these celeb couples never make it very far and usually they all have a bit of a crazy side.....It wouldn't surprise me that Wentz has some kind of problem and could be destroying the relationship. They all are too young and mature so slowly compared to an average person.
Caley, in my opinoin, christina aguilara sucked at the super bowl, and it was really emmbarressing. She didn't look good either, but i guess everyone makes mistakes
@jerzyp: i don't get why people would think that ressurection of the woolly mammoth is wrong. The animal is not a predator like a dinosaur, its just a furry elephant. Studying it will not harm people or the animal itself.
Wait, I sort of take back what I said in my last post. I think that everybody makes mistakes and this guy made a creepy one but Maybe he just wasnt happy with his private life. You dont know what was going through his head and I thought we were talking about a congresswoman. It should just be let go.
There's obviously something wrong with Chris Lee if he did such thing. Also, I think people should take voting seriously because there have been many politicians involved in scandals.
I agree with John Wahl about his article concerning Egypt. This is a very important issue because the events going on in Egypt have led to a lot of violence and death, and many people believed a revolution would start in Egypt. The protesters wanted Mubarak to resign from office and he finally annoucned that he would. This is a great thing because his action will stop the violence and lean towards a better future for Egypt.
@jerzy and shounak I agree with the ressurection of the mammoth but the thing is they have been talking about ressurecting the mammoth since about 2006.
Do people honestly believe that Trump will be a good president... he has not one once of political background like holy hack i dont trust him with my country.
The article that I choose was about The Happiest U.S. Cities to work. The Number 1 city is San Jose. The average salary is $82,635.58 and the job security rating is 3.13! The 2nd city is San Francisco which has an average salary of $74,745.13 and security rating of 3.13! The 3rd city is Jacksonville, Florida which has an average salary of $55,532.67 and security rating of 3.47. The second to last city is Miami which has an average salary of $58,039.72 and security rating of 3.44! The last happiest U.S. city to work at is Washington, D.C. which has an average salary of $73,708.26 and a security rating of 3.44! All of these cities make sense that they would be on this list. All of these cities except for Washington, D.C. have great weather all the time and you could do alot of amazing things on your free time. The only city that I think should be on this list is New York City, which is not on this list because of how employees actually feel about their jobs. It is a loss that it landed at Number 14 instead of the top cities.
Jerzy your topic was probably the most interesting. An ancient animal such as the wooly mammoth being resureccted again sounds impossible and science fiction. But if it does happen it will be a scientific breakthrough.
Chris, i think you're article is interesting. at&t and verizon are always competing against eachother for who is better, with technical problems, service, and customer service wise. any commercial you see for either one of them is always saying something negative about the other. I dont even like iphone's, so i personally dont care that verizon will have them, and i do have verizon for my phone. but i agree with whoever said the service might mess up due to the iphones
I think Marissa's article was quite interesting. I am both excited and afraid to find out what it would be like to have a BUSINESSMAN as our President. I am nervous that he may want to put business aspirations of this country ahead of everything else, but he may help fix the economy. This article has a lot of human interest and proximity to all Americans and makes me wonder if Trump should run or not.
Tht is very intersting as Ryan said that they are all southern states that have the deadliest eating habits. Maybe becasue they are all vacation spots for the northerners who get cold in the winter and when you go on vacation you want to eat alot.
@chris Trump knows alot he could probably do a good job he one of the most successful businessmen ever. So he probably would have some knowledge about being a political figure
@Zach, yes they have been talking about it for a while, but now they have an actual way to complete this task and have a time set for completion. Sure they have been talking about it but now its real.
jess, i think you're article is interesting because those are some places where would actually love to work. It probably has a correlation with the weather in those places that you listed, but maybe not..
I don't think Donald Trump should run for President. He is not a politician so he does not have experience. If he wants to get into politics, he could run for the Senate, or other positions that do not have as much power as the President.
@John I agree with you on the issue that the death penalty should probably not be carried out in this situation. This is because, as you said, the DNA evidence has not been confirmed yet and so he should not be convicted. Plus, there has been a number of cases in which a person has been given the death penalty and then later have been proven innocent. This is the reason why Rhode Island abolished the death penalty. The last person in Rhode Island was hung and then years later it was proven that he was an innocent man.
Jerzy's article is very unique. I think the resurrection of the Wooly Mammoth would have both positive and negative effects. Although it would help humans study their behaviors, they still may have to adapt to their new environment and this wouldhave a profound effect on the food chain. I cannot imagine a scence like a polar bear fighting a Wooly Mammoth or how other animals will react to this new addition to wildlife.
I agree with John, Alec's topic is very newsworthy. Football is the biggest sport in America and generates lots of revenue. I think a new agreement will be signed by the deadline because no one in the league wants to lose the money that would come from postponing the talks. Even in the off season, collectively the nfl would lose $400 million or more for each month the agreement is not signed and during the season almso 3 billion per month.
Why would you want a mammoth back in real life? Those things are ugly beast and can cause alot of damage if they are released in the wild or escape from a zoo.
I think that southern states have bad eating habits because southern states are known for things such as fried chicken and fatty unhealthy foods, which is probably why the majorityof them are obese.
no offense to anyone who might have lived there prior to living here or something....
rumor has it that zoo tycoon so we can also learn the proper habitat we should provide our mammoths and what food we should use to properly talk care of them...thats just what i heard
Shounak, eating in the desert is dangerous because things such as scorpions and snakes are caught and fed to people. This is dangerous in both gathering the food, and if the food is not properly prepared, people could get both food poisoning AND poison from a snake or scorpion.
Marissa's article is very interesting. Everyone would be interested to know who is planning on running in the new election because the choice for the president of our country affects all of us. I don't think Donald Trump would make a good president, and frankly i don't think he'd win. Yes, Trump is an excellent buisnessman, but what does he know about politics? He has no background or experience in politics at all which makes him an unlikely canidate for president. Also, his idea of raising the taxes on chinese products would not go well, considering so many things are imported from China.
Caley, Christina Aguelera should not have messed up the national anthem. She is considered to be a very popular musician and should have been used to the pressure and not mess up in front of 111,000,000 people. Her job is to sing in front of extraordinarily large amounts of people and not mess up, so this is no exception.
@ Madie , She should still be concerned about the reputation of her own daughter.. Even though we all know she doesn't have good health and has many problems doesn't mean people can say 'hurtful' things about her.
Chris' article was very interesting, and so are all the comments that respond to it. I was very excited about Verizon adding the iPhone to their phones, but I am shockied how many people disapprove of it and am reconsidering their decision. As a Verizon customer, I really hope this does not hurt their connections like it did to AT&T. The problem is, if this works out it will be great, but if it does not, it will be a catastrophe.
Andrews article is also interesting. America is known to be the fattest country in the world, so its interesting to hear which states have the worst eating habits. This is newsworthy because it concerns health, obesity is obviously a major problem in Aemrica. Compared to other countries the diet and food choices of many Americans is very poor. It is also interesting and weird that Texas wasn't included in the list because it is the "fattest" state in America, so i wonder why they arent considered to have the worst eating habits?
I think it is really rare when someone actually sings the wrong lyrics for the National Anthem. She might not get asked again to sing it because of this. Hopefully she wont do it again!
Michaela, it is also interesting to note that all of our fruits and vegetables are imported and then frozen for about a year before being released. In Europe, food is sold when it is in season. In the fall, apples are sold, by springtime, they are not and people have a new variety of foods to choose from. In America, a mushy, fozen apple is still sold in the summer, which is much worse and not as healthy.
you might be right mwalshhhhxo, but if she keeps on going on doing what she is doing. she's going to wind up dead. so they need to worry more about that

ReplyDeleteDavid Beckham was driving on the highway in England, when he pulled over. The reason he pulled over was because a man was stuck on the side of the road.
ReplyDeleteObviously Echols killed those people in a state that has the death penalty, so he must have known the consequences. He deserves the death penalty.

ReplyDeleteMy article is about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz filing divorce from Pete Wentz.
ReplyDeleteMy article, from a previously cancelled TMZ, is about majoy brands that are closing stores.
ReplyDeleteThis is a big surprise, as I grew up near a Blockbuster and took it for granted, until it shut down. I thought this was very interesting because it was the reverse effect of what I expected.
i personally think that veiga's article is the most interesting because it goes to show that those who over indulge can literatly suffer from it.
ReplyDeleteMy topic this week is Ted Williams, not the famous baseball player, but a different Ted Williams, coincidentally named after the Red Sox legend, and famous in his own unique way.
ReplyDeleteTo add onto my topic it is an embarassing mark to have been named as the team with the longest losing streak in any sport. The Cavaliers as many people know are without their superstar player Lebron James who left for Miami to join forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
ReplyDeleteJohn Wahl, one of the stories on yahoo that was posted today said the Mubarak had just resigned and handed his power to the military. This should stop most of the rioting and protesting
ReplyDeleteThe Christina Agulara tmz topic sounds interesting. When I first saw it, my first thought was that she would sound amazing. But when I researched it, it turns out she did a horrible job! Not what I thought was going to happen.
ReplyDeleteMy article was about "Homepage High school". This is a school that doesn't have any textbook or notebooks. All they use are computers to educate students. The principal Nancy Amling wants to change the way education looks in a little place. This goes to show that the education system is really being taking over by technology.
ReplyDelete@John.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the death penalty is never a neccesary punishment. I personally think that if you isolate a convict for the rest of their live then that is much worse then killing them. I believe the death penalty is almost like taking the easy way out.
It is interesting how most of those 10 states are in the south.
ReplyDeleteMichaela, who is chris lee?
ReplyDeleteI was going to speak about the NFL collective bargaining agreement.
ReplyDeleteThe article that I chose was about a new drilling technique that is being developed and invested in as we speak. This new technique could lead to the western United States producing more oil than the Gulf of Mexico does currently. This could help combat the energy crisis that we have in the United States. It could also start to wean us off the need that we have of oil from the Middle East.
ReplyDeleteVeiga, it costs a lot of money to keep a criminal behind bars. There is a lot of money going towards federal and state prisons, and the death penalty is a good way to lessen the load.
ReplyDeleteShounak that is a great topic and I think its a great story. Shounaks man, Ted Williams, got a job with the Cleveland Cavaliers due to his renonwned voice and the Cleveland Cavs are the main part of my topic. His talent is raw and it is a fantastic story.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why of all 50, those are the top ten states that have the deadliest eating habits.
ReplyDeleteShounak, I saw the video the week it came out and didnt think much of it. The next week, the video was on the news and they said he recieved jobs in sportscasting and things of that nature. It's very heartwarming to know that a man who has been on the streets for years is getting a second chance.
ReplyDeleteDevin, I think that your article was interestng because most celebrities start going down a path where they become arrogant and think that it is below them to help people. I think that David Beckham's actions will have a positive effect on up and coming celebrities and everyday people.
ReplyDeleteAt john's article, I think this story serves a very good point.
ReplyDeleteMY article I gound on yahooo is basically about rich people wanting one of a knid things for their one of a kind houses and the worlds most expensive bed for the special one-of-a-kind house can cost you 6.4million dollars. Which is way to much to purchase a bed and it doesn't evne look nice
ReplyDeletehttp://news.peacefmonline.com/social/201102/133989.php
Thanks chris i worked really hard to try to find the perfect topic<3
ReplyDeleteRyan, what do you mean "where you may not shop" ? Are the stores closed or are the prices too high..?
ReplyDeleteI think chris' article is good because i know some people who have verizon and say that there network is not as good as they advertise it.
ReplyDeleteAlec your article is also a great conversation, because many people follow the NFL. Your article also brings up two points whichh makes it newsworthy. but the question i have is, is this right??
ReplyDeleteMy article is about married republican congressman, Chris Lee, sending a semi naked photo to a craigslist woman.
ReplyDeleteVeiga, did the article say why those states had bad eating habits?
ReplyDeleteShounak, I like how your topic was unique which make it interesting and newsworthy. The fact that his name is Ted Williams and that he turned his life around from a homeless person to a youtube sensation. I liked this because it stood out as a topic.
ReplyDeleteActually Devin, it costs less to keep them in prison than it does to kill them. There fore your point is irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteLady Gaga new song Born this way sucks I couldn't understand 90% of what she was saying
ReplyDeleteI think that John's article is very interesting because the death penalty has been greatly debated throughout the years.
ReplyDeleteRose, chris lee is a congressman from new york
ReplyDeleteMy article is about the ressurection of the Woolly Mammoth, which may be possible in only five years. This is sparking a LOT of controversy between people who think that this is wrong and believe that animals go extinct for a reason, but some think it is a great way for us to learn about the history of earth and to study the animal.
ReplyDeleteDevin, you can't kill people just to save money.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump says he is seriously thinking about running for president but won't make a final decision until summer, this is newsworthy because obviously people of the U.S would want to know who their president is at the current time, or will be in the near future. We're not respected."
ReplyDeleteHaving a multi-billionaire as our president would be quite a change, so i think this sparks human interest. Trump said that if elected, he would reassess American foreign policy, especially its relationship with China, of whom he considers to be "the enemy."
He wants to put a 25% tax on all chinese products, which is huge because half of the things you pick up in the store today say "Made in china" on them. Trump believes china to be the enemy, because he thinks they are trying to take over this country economically, which is why he would tax the products.
@John
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the protests and riots will completely stop. This is because there will still be a fight for power in Egypt. There is no set leader that will take control after all of the comotion bubbles down. Because of this, there could be more fighting in order for one group to get an upper-hand and become the governing body.
Caley Rem:
ReplyDeleteMy article is about Christina Aguilera and her mishop while singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl ceremony.
ReplyDeleteCouldnt agree more with Andrew although sometimes they need to pay for their actions whether the punishment be lethal or not.
ReplyDeleteAt shounaks comment. I saw a Dr. Phil episode were this Ted Williams was on and he had to confess to his family that he did wrong and he will fix it.
ReplyDeleteMy article is on the effect that Glee is having on United States teenagers.
ReplyDeleteJohn's article is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteTRUMP FOR 2012!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the reasoning for chris lee randomly sending that picture? because he wanted to be with her? that's creepy because he made up so many lies
ReplyDeleteTo answer Jonathons question, the study is based on grocery stores per 1,000 residents, Amount Spent on Fast Food per capita, gallons of soft drinks purchased per capita, and pounds of sweets purchased per capita.
ReplyDelete@Jerzy...science never fails to dissapoint. there is always something new being discovered and being discussed. if you think about it it is pretty awesome that we could soo see a real life whooly mamoth. But personally id reather see a sabertooth tiger.
ReplyDelete@Chris
ReplyDeleteI think that the same thing that happened to the service of AT&T will happen to Verizon now.
ReplyDeleteJerzy, I think your topic is very interesting. It would be very helpful to scientists to bring back the Woolly Mammoth.
ReplyDeleteI think Devin's article is the most interesting because you don't usually hear about that. A lot of celebritys would just drive by and not pay attention but David Beckham was nice enough to help him.
ReplyDeleteAlec, your topic was newsworthy because football is the most popular sport in america. After record breaking viewing of the super bowl, a shocking turn for the worse with this bargaing agreement shows a behind the scenes of a very sucessful business which is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe story of the man with the golden voice is a great story. When I heard this guys voice it was amazing. Thanks to the reporter that found him his life will never be the same. Its too bad that he still has some problems, but now people are helping him and he will get better. This shows just how much drugs and alcohal can bring down someone, no matter how talented they are.
ReplyDeleteI think it is interesting how those ten states have the most dangerous eating habits. It is also interesting, how Devin notes, that they are in the south. I wonder if New Mexico is rated the deadliest because a large portion of it is desert.
ReplyDeleteat jerzy's article, i think that if they can bring it back and have a place to keep them and they will be well taken care of, then i think that they should bring it back. Plus it would be really cool.
ReplyDelete@Xinrui, Your article is interesting, I think these celeb couples never make it very far and usually they all have a bit of a crazy side.....It wouldn't surprise me that Wentz has some kind of problem and could be destroying the relationship. They all are too young and mature so slowly compared to an average person.
ReplyDeleteCaley, in my opinoin, christina aguilara sucked at the super bowl, and it was really emmbarressing. She didn't look good either, but i guess everyone makes mistakes
ReplyDeleteAt chris' comment about my article this is right because it is on the ESPN website and multiple sources have reported this.
ReplyDelete@jerzyp: i don't get why people would think that ressurection of the woolly mammoth is wrong. The animal is not a predator like a dinosaur, its just a furry elephant. Studying it will not harm people or the animal itself.
ReplyDeleteIncase anyone is interested in the Mammoth article
ReplyDeletehttp://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/01/18/5870423-mammoth-resurrection-on-the-way
Wait, I sort of take back what I said in my last post. I think that everybody makes mistakes and this guy made a creepy one but Maybe he just wasnt happy with his private life. You dont know what was going through his head and I thought we were talking about a congresswoman. It should just be let go.
ReplyDelete@ryan connor: what does living in the desert have to do with deadly eating habits
ReplyDeleteThere's obviously something wrong with Chris Lee if he did such thing. Also, I think people should take voting seriously because there have been many politicians involved in scandals.
ReplyDeleteI agree with John Wahl about his article concerning Egypt.
ReplyDelete@jerzy and shounak
ReplyDeleteI agree with the ressurection of the mammoth but the thing is they have been talking about ressurecting the mammoth since about 2006.
Do people honestly believe that Trump will be a good president... he has not one once of political background like holy hack i dont trust him with my country.
ReplyDeleteMichaelS, when are these new plans supposed to be put into action?
ReplyDeleteThe article that I choose was about The Happiest U.S.
ReplyDeleteJerzy your topic was probably the most interesting. An ancient animal such as the wooly mammoth being resureccted again sounds impossible and science fiction. But if it does happen it will be a scientific breakthrough.
ReplyDeleteChris, i think you're article is interesting. at&t and verizon are always competing against eachother for who is better, with technical problems, service, and customer service wise. any commercial you see for either one of them is always saying something negative about the other. I dont even like iphone's, so i personally dont care that verizon will have them, and i do have verizon for my phone. but i agree with whoever said the service might mess up due to the iphones
ReplyDeleteI think Marissa's article was quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteCaley Rem:
ReplyDeleteMarissa, I agree. I don't think Christina Aguilera was a good choice.
Jerzy i have a few questions concerning your topic.
ReplyDeleteIf this mammoth is born, is it up for sale?
Do you have to get a permit for owning a mammoth?
What will i have to feed it if i buy it?
Tht is very intersting as Ryan said that they are all southern states that have the deadliest eating habits. Maybe becasue they are all vacation spots for the northerners who get cold in the winter and when you go on vacation you want to eat alot.
ReplyDelete@chris Trump knows alot he could probably do a good job he one of the most successful businessmen ever. So he probably would have some knowledge about being a political figure
ReplyDelete@Zach, yes they have been talking about it for a while, but now they have an actual way to complete this task and have a time set for completion. Sure they have been talking about it but now its real.
ReplyDelete@Jessica: is it a coincidence that San Jose and San Francisco are literally right next to each other
ReplyDeletejess, i think you're article is interesting because those are some places where would actually love to work. It probably has a correlation with the weather in those places that you listed, but maybe not..
ReplyDeletep.s: chris is immature
I agree with everyone on the blog whos saying that the mammoth ressurection is a good idea
ReplyDelete@marissa I agree 1000% about chris
ReplyDeletep.s waddup with egypt lately? mad chaos...
ReplyDeleteI don't think Donald Trump should run for President. He is not a politician so he does not have experience. If he wants to get into politics, he could run for the Senate, or other positions that do not have as much power as the President.
ReplyDelete@John
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the issue that the death penalty should probably not be carried out in this situation. This is because, as you said, the DNA evidence has not been confirmed yet and so he should not be convicted. Plus, there has been a number of cases in which a person has been given the death penalty and then later have been proven innocent. This is the reason why Rhode Island abolished the death penalty. The last person in Rhode Island was hung and then years later it was proven that he was an innocent man.
i think that they should have a wholly mammoth carebear so that we can all prepare for our purchase of a whooly mammoth.
ReplyDeleteJerzy's article is very unique.
ReplyDeleteCaley Rem:
ReplyDeleteJerzy's article is very newsworthy. To think that in five years we might be able to see a Woolly Mammoth..
@ Veiga
ReplyDelete-Yes they will be for sale at PetCo
-Yes you will need a mammoth permit, I suggest you apply now it may up to a year in a half to finally get one
-To feed it you're going to want to feed him circus peanuts, a nice watering hole, and several shade trees that he can also induldge upon
ReplyDeletejessica Salvatore ;) I think that your article is interesting and this could definatly help people decide where the best place to live is.
ReplyDeletegreenandyellow greeandyellow
ReplyDeleteWhy would you want a mammoth back in real life? Those things are ugly beast and can cause alot of damage if they are released in the wild or escape from a zoo.
ReplyDeleteI really hope Trump does not become President! What does he have to offer for this country?
ReplyDeleteI think that southern states have bad eating habits because southern states are known for things such as fried chicken and fatty unhealthy foods, which is probably why the majorityof them are obese.
ReplyDeleteno offense to anyone who might have lived there prior to living here or something....
Are you serious, Jerzy?
ReplyDeleteTRUMP SHOULD GIVE HIS MAD $$$$$$ TO OUR COUNTRY
ReplyDelete@marissa: i know right! Mubarak resigns military takes over someone should get involved
ReplyDeleterumor has it that zoo tycoon so we can also learn the proper habitat we should provide our mammoths and what food we should use to properly talk care of them...thats just what i heard
ReplyDeleteI agree with Xinrui. Trump really shouldn't run for president if he doesn't have any experience being a politican first
ReplyDeleteP.s hey dimezz, miss you
ReplyDeleteShounak, eating in the desert is dangerous because things such as scorpions and snakes are caught and fed to people. This is dangerous in both gathering the food, and if the food is not properly prepared, people could get both food poisoning AND poison from a snake or scorpion.
ReplyDeleteMarissa's article is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteZOO TYCOON IS the best! But i prefer Rollercoaster Tycoon Better can make more people scream at one time and drown them.
ReplyDeleterumor has it that zoo tycoon is making a wholly mammoth animal
ReplyDeleteyes xinrui he is serious. if you really want one you can preorder them on amazon too
ReplyDeleteShounak: Im not sure but San Jose has the highest salary and San Francisco has the 2nd best.
ReplyDeletemy whooly mammoth prefers patatoe chips and sunkist orange soda
ReplyDeleteLindsay Lohan's mom, Dina, slams Fox's 'Glee' for being 'hurtful' and calling her a 'loser'
ReplyDelete/i that they had made a big deal really over nothing. The mom should be mom worried over lindsay's health. than a t.v show calling her names.
@ jerzy, if they make a mammoth, i think that they can make a unicorn.
ReplyDeleteChris' article was very interesting because verizon JUST came out with the iphone and it already has bad reviews.
ReplyDeleteor a baby cub unicorn
ReplyDelete*mom= more
ReplyDelete@chris where did u by your wolly mammoth myne died. And i can't find any pet store that sells them.
ReplyDelete@Marissa; that is true about Southern states having very fatty foods but, that is their culture just like her in New England with seafood.
ReplyDeleteya i also thought that chris's article was very interesting.
ReplyDeleteCaley, Christina Aguelera should not have messed up the national anthem. She is considered to be a very popular musician and should have been used to the pressure and not mess up in front of 111,000,000 people. Her job is to sing in front of extraordinarily large amounts of people and not mess up, so this is no exception.
ReplyDelete@ Madie , She should still be concerned about the reputation of her own daughter.. Even though we all know she doesn't have good health and has many problems doesn't mean people can say 'hurtful' things about her.
ReplyDeleteChris' article was very interesting, and so are all the comments that respond to it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jessica. The South is famous for its deep fried foods such as deep fried Oreos and pickles
ReplyDeleteAndrews article is also interesting.
ReplyDeleteI think it is really rare when someone actually sings the wrong lyrics for the National Anthem. She might not get asked again to sing it because of this. Hopefully she wont do it again!
ReplyDeleteya but seafood is more healthy.
ReplyDeleteits not that rare. many people have messed it up before
ReplyDeleteWAY TO GO EVERYONE WE GOT 150 COMMENTS!!!
ReplyDeleteChris your comment is ridiculous, who would buy a wolly mammoth carebear.............
ReplyDeleteCaley Rem:
ReplyDeleteTo Jon Wahl's article, I think that no matter what the crime, the death penalty should not be an option.
ReplyDeleteDid the iphone for verizon even come out yet......?
ReplyDelete@michaela I would buy a wolly mammoth carebear for my baby sister.
ReplyDeleteyou might be right mwalshhhhxo, but if she keeps on going on doing what she is doing. she's going to wind up dead. so they need to worry more about that
ReplyDeleteAt Michaela's article, that is horrible... and gross.
ReplyDelete@michaela: it came out yesterday
ReplyDelete@ my last post.....
ReplyDeletethat was Caley.
